Synthetic Diamond

  SSD-100

Special Features

• Crystals irregularly shaped in needle-like flakes with rough corrugated surfaces and with numerous re-entrant angles that promotes superior bond retention. It's mosaic structure facilitates the continuous presentation of sharp new cutting edges.

Applications

• Making resin-bonded tools for grinding of cemented carbides & other ultra-hard metals, alloys and ceramics.

Grit No.

• 30 to 400

Workpiece materials

• cemented carbides
• carbide/steel combinations

  SSD-200

Special features

• Most crystals in block shape, with rough surfaces. SSD-200 is a very strong crystalline product whose specially formed crystals give it a greatly enhanced impact strength.

Applications

• Making electro-deposited and metal-bonded products for grinding tungsten carbides, drilling medium-hard rock formations & other hard/brittle non-metallic materials.

Grit No.

• 30 to 170

Workpiece materials

• glass
• ceramics
• hard metals
• plastics
• ferrite
• fiberglass
• dental enamels

  SSD-300

Special features

• Very strong crystals with smooth surfaces. It has extremely good bond retention with high compressive strength.

Applications

• Making metal-bonded bits for drilling hard and medium-hard rock formations, saw disk cutting medium-hard stones & dressing tools. Also suitable for tools used in the grinding hard alumina and other tough refractories of modern ceramics & similar materials.

Grit No.

• 40 to 100

Workpiece materials

• stones
• concrete
• refractories
• other non-metallics

  SSD-400

Special features

• Ultra-strong, transparent and well-defined cubo-octohedral crystals with predominantly smooth faces. It's great hardness & compressive strength are higher than SSD-300.

Applications

• Particularly suitable for making metal-bonded geological drilling & mining bits, used in hardest strata. Also specially good for roller dressing tools where optimum tool performance is of prime importance. SSD-400 has specially formed crystals for greatly enhanced strength in grinding the hardest ceramics.

Grit No.

• 40 to 140

Workpiece materials

• concrete refractories
• hardest stones & cast refractories
• extra tough granite
